p1313: Here is the beginning of the main road connecting Tibet with the rest of the world, and this is rather better than most of it. From here it goes steadily up to well over 18,000 feet at the top of the pass and it is treacherous footing most of the way. In some of the canyons the narrow trail borders drop that you do not want to look down.
